Vegpro International Inc. is the largest grower-packer of baby lettuces and vegetables in Canada. Known under the "Attitude Fraîche" brand, the company has revolutionized its field of activity since its founding in 1998. A Quebec company with its head office in Montérégie, it employs nearly 1,000 passionate collaborators and offers them a dynamic and ambitious challenges.
Vegpro proudly cultivates its own land, thus controlling the quality of its products from seed to plate. It also has four packing centers located in the heart of its fields: two in Sherrington, QC; one in Coldstream, British Columbia; and one in Belle-Glade, Florida.
The main workplace of the position to be filled is on the South Shore of Montreal, in Saint-Patrice-de-Sherrington. Advantageously located about 30 minutes from the Champlain Bridge, near the crossroads of highways 15 south, 10 and 30.
In collaboration with the Agricultural Engineering Manager, the Agricultural Project Manager is responsible for implementing continuous improvement projects, determining R&D project priorities, transferring technology, and ensuring follow-up with teams from each of the company’s three farms.
- Provide scientific and technical support to production teams
- Participate in agricultural machinery development activities, soil work, irrigation, drainage, precision agriculture, soil conservation, instrumentation, automation, and production management
- Design, subcontract, and implement prototypes to prove the viability of chosen solutions
- Implement, analyze, and ensure the integrity of key performance indicators (KPIs) and suggest ways to meet productivity goals
- Define and plan the actions required to optimize the processes and work methods within the various departments
- Ensure the implementation of good manufacturing practices (GMPs) based on Lean principles, Kaizen, SMED, etc.
- Develop work and training tools, and participate in the implementation of best practices for continuous improvement
- Support staff in managing the change generated by continuous improvement

Knowledge and skills sought
- Bachelor’s degree in agricultural or agro-environmental engineering, or equivalent
- Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Have a passion for continuous improvement in agriculture
- Strong organizational and planning skills, analytic, proactive, and independent
- Working knowledge of MS Office, SolidWorks, and Geomatics
- Good knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen, problem solving, PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, etc.), Six Sigma training or certification (an asset)
- Possess a valid driver’s licence and passport, and be willing to travel occasionally
- Good communicator, both orally and in writing
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
- Knowledge of Spanish (an asset)
