Job Description
The Mechanic Supervisor performs multiple-level projects and daily activities to ensure farm equipment remains in safe working order. This role oversees all repairs, purchasing, and preventative maintenance schedules and supervises a team of seasonal mechanics and a purchasing clerk at the farm.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform, direct, and coordinate the equipment repairs and assign preventative maintenance of the farm equipment
- Supervise and schedule a team of seasonal employees and a purchasing clerk (3-4 people), assist in training and coaching as needed
- Responsible for documentation including such as work orders, reports, maintenance schedules and correspondence
- Calibration of the GPS on all tractors with GPS backup of each screen (update with master GPS files and installation into the allocated tractor)
- Advise on problems, purchasing equipment and materials, work orders and approve work maintenance schedules
- Cultivate positive relationship with our suppliers and customers in the Farming Community
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with health & safety policies and regulations to promote and provide a safe working environment
- Create reports on equipment, materials, time, costs and production; keep records and prepare estimates of need

Knowledge and skills sought
- 3 -5 years supervisory experience
- Trade certificate or equivalent experience in equipment and maintenance with tractors and other farm equipment
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish is an asset)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license
- Willingness to work flexible hours is required during high seasonal workloads
