Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising production operations according to established standards (productivity, costs, and product quality) to minimize stoppages and meet production goals. The role is responsible for supervising the production employees (Production Labourers, PMO, Material Handlers, and Team Leads) and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Plan, organize and oversee production operations according to established standards (productivity, costs and product quality) to minimize downtime and meet production deadlines
- Analyze the production schedule and determine the best strategy for production according to information received from the procurement team.
- Ensure all equipment is functional and switched on washing lines to begin production on schedule (morning only).
- Holding daily meetings with team leaders and operations director and procurement to plan production shift.
- Confirm to the daily team leader on number of employees and agency personnel to each workstation.
- Directing the production team in the execution and changes in the production schedule in order to meet production deadlines.
- Monitor key performance indicators at the individual level and for the whole team.
- Communicate any irregular to production manager and submit the necessary recommendations.
- Ensure effective communication between work teams and other services for any situation the applicant (or lack of product quality, supply problems, mechanical equipment, etc.).
- Supervise the work of the team leaders, and PMO and assist as needed in the execution of their work.
- Manage employees under their supervision
- Determine the general needs of labor, communicate them to the plant manager and ensure the necessary follow.
- Host and participate in the integration of new employees.
- Train employees.
- Mobilizing all employees and agency staff.
- Evaluate and ensure employee skills development.
- Make a sound management discipline and follow up with team leaders.
- Ensure the implementation of company policies and procedures (overtime, absences, etc.).
- Ensuring compliance with OSH policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and HACCP
- Train new employees on safe work practices and GMP.
- Keep safe and clean working environment.
- Ensure that employees work safely, they respect the established dress code and mandatory wearing of protective equipment;
- Report any dangerous situation or potential contamination to the immediate supervisor.
- Draft reports of workplace accidents and participate in investigations as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks required and all other related tasks
- Complete production forms (HACCP, mechanical failure, stop production, unusual event notification and corrective actions).
- Check and authorize hours of employees

Knowledge and skills sought
- BA in business administration or engineering or a college diploma in operations management and production (GOP) or any other relevant training;
- Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years experience in a similar position;
- Experience in food processing and manufacturing;
- Skills development expertise;
- Knowledge of operational coaching concepts and tools;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Functional bilingualism (French and English), knowledge of Spanish is an asset;
- Ability to work in a cold, humid environment (3 ° C);
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GFSI)
- Knowledge of health and safety standards at work.
