Job Description
Quality Operational Supervisor supports all activities related to the operational quality of their shift and ensures the management of technicians. The position holder will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising employees as well as daily operations according to established standards and procedures. As a coach in action, their mission is to instill progress and success in their employees. They will be in service to their employees to deliver the established quality plan and help them achieve performance goals by taking ownership of standard management systems on a daily basis.
More specifically, you will need to:

Ensure the smooth running of daily department activities according to established standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with pre-established task schedules and assign related tasks to technicians
- Distribute tasks or replace technicians in case of absence
- Provide support to technicians in carrying out their work
- Ensure communication and close collaboration with production for any situation requiring it, to ensure compliance with quality control procedures

Ensure compliance with quality standards
- Ensure compliance and follow-up of quality deviations (inputs, finished products, foreign objects, chlorine, metal detector, etc.) and take corrective and preventive actions as needed
- Ensure the execution and maintenance of the product reception and return program
- Complete relevant documentation (hold, supplier notification, foreign objects) in case of non-compliance, including supporting documents (photos, Exa quarantine), and follow up (shelf life, corrective actions, etc.) to complete various records
- Participate in the investigation of quality-related complaints
- Ensure the compliance of records filled by the team
- Ensure compliance with recipes and make deviations if necessary

Coach employees under their supervision
- Plan, get personnel needs approved, and participate in recruitment
- Ensure the integration of new employees and coordinate task training
- Mobilize all employees and maintain team spirit
- Approve the working hours of their employees
- Carry out a healthy management of disciplinary measures and ensure follow-up

Keep up to date and improve programs and procedures related to the operational quality department
- Monitor procedures and suggest ways to improve work
- Participate in continuous improvement projects for the department

Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices on safety and food safety
- Ensure compliance with the established dress code and the wearing of mandatory protective equipment
- Maintain documents related to the HACCP system
- Ensure that new employees in their department are trained on health and safety, GMP, and HACCP policies and procedures according to their positions
- Ensure that sanitation rules are followed on the floor
- Write work accident reports and participate in investigations as needed

Knowledge and skills sought
- College degree in food technology and quality, university degrees in food science and technology, or any other relevant training
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a management position
- Experience in the agri-food industry and manufacturing sector
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GFSI)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written; knowledge of Spanish is an asset
- Good communication and mobilizing leadership
- Good sense of priorities, judgment, analysis, and rigor
