Vegpro International Inc. is the largest grower-packer of baby lettuces and vegetables in Canada. Vegpro proudly cultivates its own land, thus controlling the quality of its products from seed to plate. It also has four packing centers located in the heart of its fields: two in Sherrington, QC; one in Coldstream, British Columbia; and one in Belle-Glade, Florida.
The main workplace of the position to be filled is on the South Shore of Montreal, in Saint-Patrice-de-Sherrington. Advantageously located about 30 minutes from the Champlain Bridge, near the crossroads of highways 15 south, 10 and 30.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Reliability and Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all maintenance activities for their area. Using key performance indicators (KPIs), the Reliability and Maintenance Coordinator optimizes the area’s management regarding planning and the approval of work orders. They support internal collaborators at both the technical and management levels for day-to-day problem solving of production line issues.
The Reliability and Maintenance Coordinator orchestrates and enforces the use of best practices for work, prevention, and equipment reliability while ensuring the efficiency and integrity of the maintenance system processes. They are also responsible for communicating the procedures inherent to their area.
- Manage work orders: approve, prioritize, and verify work order requests, including any required parts, and manage critical parts inventories
- Schedule maintenance work to be carried out during shifts
- Act as the person responsible for the prevention and equipment reliability program
- Audit and analyze the preventive and predictive maintenance program and make appropriate recommendations
- Collaborate with the various stakeholders to create new preventive measures (add, remove, and modify equipment)
- Manage the key performance indicators (KPIs): analyze them, communicate observations, and make recommendations for improvement in order to reach the set goals
- Provide technical support for the designated area to the Mechanics, Supervisors, and Area Managers
- Ensure effective problem resolution management to support production in the event of major breakdowns, production stoppages, and complex problems
- See that best practices are applied to maintenance
- Use root cause analysis (RCA) tools in the event of major breakdowns
- Participate in the process of welcoming new Electromechanics and act as a resource person for their integration and development (training)
- Ensure the efficiency and integrity of the maintenance system processes (CMMS)
- Ensure communication of technical maintenance procedures and facilitate weekly team meetings
- Set up the processes and ensure that they, as well as 5S systems, are respected for the plant’s various common areas and maintenance tools

Knowledge and skills sought
- College diploma in automated systems in electromechanics or engineering training, or any other training deemed relevant
- At least 3 years of experience working in preventive maintenance
- Experience in KPI analysis (an asset)
- Knowledge of welding, hydraulics, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation and control (an asset)
- Possess a Class C licence (an asset)
- Bilingual proficiency in spoken and written French and English
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
- Good communicator: ability to facilitate weekly team meetings and vulgarize information at various levels
