Job Description
The Sanitation Supervisor will plan, organize and supervise sanitation employees according to established standards and procedures. Being a coach in action, the objective is be to inspire progress and success of employees, encouraging teamwork while meeting all Production Sanitation requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and prioritize sanitation tasks to be performed (daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks) and communicate them to the team leads
- Prepare all documentation of cleaning activities and training for annual audits
- Provide technical support to team leads in the execution of their tasks for sanitation
- Monitor the progress of the work throughout the shift in order to meet deadlines/timelines
- Complete and approve weekly Time and Attendance as well as annual vacation requests
- Participate in daily or weekly meetings and then communicate relevant information back to Sanitation team; Communicate with other supervisors and managers via email regarding shift transition issues
- Maintain cleanliness, stock levels and organization in the chemical storage room including the creating requisitions for supplies replenishment
- Evaluate and recommend the necessary working methods, processes, and/or equipment to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of remediation operations
- Perform, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Department, the pre-operational visual inspection
- Ensure effective communication between work teams
- Evaluate employees and ensure the development of their skills
- Administer evaluation and performance improvement plans on a regular basis
- Create and participate in regular follow-up discussions with employees regarding their performance
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at the individual level and for the entire team
- Ensure the integration of new employees and coordinate Onboarding Training (SOPS and safe work procedures)
- Mobilize all employees and maintain team spirit; Provide advice and support to your team; Conduct individual coaching sessions
- Ensure implementation of company policies and procedures ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and HACCP
- Ensure that employees work safely and respect the established dress code and the wearing of mandatory protective equipment.

- Hands on support for the team as needed. 60% – 80% of your time should be spent on the floor and support production as needed by running kit or clamshell lines
- Cleaning Duties
- Spray, scrub, and clean the production and packaging machinery and equipment
- Use of air & water hoses to push the lettuce debris out from the production machines
- Empty the all trash containers in Production and Warehouses
- Disassemble and reassemble the scales for effective sanitation
- Use of spray hoses to wash the conveyor lines
- Remove / dry condensation and water from the walls, ceiling and floor
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cleaning requirements

Knowledge and skills sought
- High school diploma
- Sanitation experience in the agri-food industry and the manufacturing sector
- Expertise in coaching, skills development and training of new employees
- Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook email);
- Ability to work in a cold and humid environment (3 °C) and lift up to 50 lbs;
- Knowledge of food safety (HACCP, GFSI) and occupational health and safety standards
